Seil Island is one of the gems of the west coast of Scotland, with all the charms of a small island but without the surge and batter of the open sea all around. The Island has been connected to the mainland for over 200 years by a handsome stone bridge, “The Bridge over the Atlantic”. The cottage is only twelve miles from Oban, a bustling town known as “The Gateway to the Isles,” where you can take a ferry to the surrounding islands of Mull, Iona, Coll, Tiree, Barra and Uist.
Seil is an ideal holiday base to chill out in or explore from. The Fisherman Cottage is based in the centre of the island in Balvicar village. Originally two small cottages now combined and refurbished into one larger attractive cottage, it has three bedrooms sleeping six comfortably with the ability to cater for eight with the use of the sofa bed in the lounge. There is parking for two cars and a large open garden space.
The cottage is literally a two minute walk from beautiful Balvicar Bay and the fisherman’s private pier, which is available to offer guests staying in the cottage access to the water to launch small craft or to fish, kayak or dive in the beautiful waters which surround us.
